Data on birth weight (BW), weaning weight (WW), six month weight (6MW), nine month weight (9MW), yearling weight (YW) and yearling fleece weight (YFW) collected by the Markhoz goat performance testing station, were analyzed for estimation of genetic parameters. Estimates of the direct heritability were 0.22, 0.20, 0.22, 0.38, 0.44 and 0.17 for BW, WW, 6MW, 9MW, YW and YFW, respectively. These estimates for maternal heritability and maternal permanent environmental variance as a proportion of phenotypic variance were 0.07, 0.02 and 0.02 and 0.11, 0.08 and 0.05 for BW, WW and 6MW, respectively. Estimates of direct genetic correlations among body weight were positive, ranging from 0.20 to 0.96. These estimates between BW-YFW, WW-YFW and 6MW-YFW were negative and varied from -0.01 to -0.15. Phenotypic correlations were positive and ranging from 0.04 to 0.84 for all traits.
