Islamic educational leadership refers to a leadership approach within educational settings that is guided by principles and values derived from Islamic teachings (Almoharby and Neal, 2013; Shah, 2016; Brooks, 2019; Arar, Sawalhi, DeCuir and Amatullah, 2023). It encompasses a set of values, ethics, and practices that align with the teachings of Islam and aims to create an educational environment that fosters holistic development, ethical behavior, and social responsibility. The philosophical foundation of Islamic leadership is rooted in the principles and values of Islam in which the acquisition of knowledge as a lifelong and inclusive process is identified as a crucial aspect of Islamic educational leadership (Suddahazai, 2023). Islamic leadership, therefore, is characterized by a combination of spiritual and ethical principles that draws on several theoretical foundations that guide organizational and managerial practices within the framework of Sharia (Islamic law). From this view, Islamic educational leadership is a holistic and ethical approach that emphasizes service, justice, humility, compassion, and accountability. These principles guide leaders in their interactions with the community, ensuring the well-being and ethical development of society. Although number of researchers have highlighted that the Western perspective dominates educational leadership (Hallinger & Hammad, 2019; Hammad & Al-ani, 2021) and despite significant potential of Islamic educational Leadership and its brilliant record of this unique tradition, for several reasons educational leadership from an Islamic perspective has so far been underrepresented (Shah, 2016; Pedder, 2016; Arar & Haj-Yehia, 2018). Nevertheless, the comparison of the Islamic leadership model with contemporary leadership models shows that despite its long history, it is in many ways aligned with the recent developments in the field of management science and new scientific theories in the field of organization and management, and organizational behaviour (Ahmad, 2011; Azizi, 2013; Shah, 2016; Arar and Sawalhi, 2023). As ongoing study therefore, this research embarks on an exploration of the intricate interplay between Islamic Educational Leadership and the collaborative dynamics within the University-Learning City Partnership. Focusing on the principles of Islamic leadership, the study seeks to unveil how these principles shape decision-making, community engagement, and the overall success of this unique educational collaboration.
