Indigenous tourism which emphasizes the recognition of culture, customs, and special values of ethnic-cultural groups, cultural events, arts, and handicrafts is a relatively new approach in sustainable tourism. This concept deals with tourism at the local level, involving indigenous people in the process of creating and delivering tourism products and services. Due to its uniqueness and its dependence on ethnic-cultural groups, this type of tourism cannot be imitated and is less affected by competitive threats and therefore can be considered one of the most attractive types of tourism. In this regard; Iran, a country in West Asia with a long history of civilization, has unique and rich ethnic groups for the purpose of indigenous tourism. Because of the dependence of tourist attractions on their geographical environment, culture, customs, and special values of these ethnicities have created a unique geographical landscape in different areas, especially in the border zone of Iran, and they can be considered as one of the global corridors and a gateway for the entry of international tourists.
