چکیده Abstract The Role of Dams on Little Zab and Sirwan Rivers in Iran and its Impacts on Kurdistan Region of I ا raq- ( Hydro political study) Research shows that a fifth of the world’s population suffer from water shortage and cities are planning ways to solve this issue through water management projects. Most countries suffer from drastic growth in the population, climate change, over-production of farm and industrial products and the wasting of an enormous amount of water. Some factors such as sources of water being unhygienic, non-innovative watering techniques and over-using water in some applications, result in water becoming more scarce by the day. This is while there are only 53 ا out of ا 053 basins in the world that are regulated and obey environmental law 9ا Political relations between Iran and Iraq are influenced by many factors, that can affect many industries. the building of dams along shared rivers is often a reason for conflict and has impacted the politics greatly. The question is what effects will the hydro politics of the lesser zab and Sirwan river have on the relation between Iran and the KRG. This study geographically analyses these two water sources and the dams and projects along them to understand their impact on the water level control and path diverging of the rivers, moreover, how the branches send water to surrounding agricultural lands, and whether the rivers will be diverted into Iranian land, which is against international law. This study explores the harm of dams and other projects on the natural and human factors of the KRG9
