چکیده The most costly process in agricultural production is drying. Different kinds of renewable energy are available in different areas that could be an option for replacement of non-renewable energy resources like fossil fuels. Solar energy is one the sources which is in focus for this goal. Solar irradiance is the power per unit area (W/m2 ), received from the Sun, which is often integrated over a given time period. The amount of absorbed solar energy per area can be intensified by concentration or reflection of the radiations in specific area. In this research two reflector plates (each 2020×510 mm) were pivoted on both sides of an absorber plate (2020×1020 mm) of a solar dryer. The absorber plate was fixed in North-South direction. During the morning, the reflector located on the west side of the absorber plate was active while the east one was passive at this time period and vice versa for the afternoon. Around midday, both reflectors were passive when the absorber plate was almost perpendicular to the solar radiations. A system including electromotor, chain gear system, solar sensor and switches was used for rotation of the reflector plates in order to reflect the solar radiation on the absorber plate. This system causes to have more radiation on the absorber plate and gain more solar energy. The temperature at inlet and outlet as well as different locations of the absorber plate was recorded for both conditions of with and without reflectors. When the ambient air temperature (Inlet temperature of the absorber plate) was 39 °C, the maximum temperature at outlet of the absorber plate was 95 °C for the system without reflector and it was about 120 °C for the system with reflector. The efficiency of the system can be raised by adding the reflectors.
