چکیده The present study was conducted to examine the relationship between personality traits with job burnout among academic teachers and personnel. Design of this study was of descriptivecorrelation type. The statistical population of this study included all teachers and personnel from public universities, Payam-E-Noor (PNU) Universities, and Islamic Azad University Kurdistan Branch and sample also consisted of 291 participants who were chosen with respect to the research inclusion criteria and based on available sampling technique. NEO- Five Factor Personality Questionnaire (NEO.PI-R) and Maslach Job Burnout Inventory were employed for this purpose. The results of findings indicated that there was significant relationship among all NEO personality traits (except openness to experience) with job burnout. The rates of Pearson’s correlation were achieved for these subscales as follows: neuroticism (0.327), extroversion (-0.521), openness to experience (-0.075), agreeableness (-0.0303), and conscientiousness (0.438). According to the given results, there is positive significant relationship among traits of neuroticism and conscientiousness with job burnout but at the same time there is negative significant relationship among extroversion and agreeableness. No relationship was found among openness to experience with job burnout as well. With respect to research finding, it seems necessary to consider personality traits in prophylactic plans for job burnout.
