چکیده This paper tends to find out if the materials of forming changes are created by the very individuals themselves (individuals' self-government) or a socially constructed apparatus. Studying One Hundred Years of Solitude, the three perspectives in Raymond Williams's "Dominant, Residual, and Emergent" are entirely examined. In addition, the present research explores the role of individuals in creating cultural changes through discussing various concepts like culture, ideology, transformation, unsuccessful emerges, original balance and equilibrium, self government, customer/service, colors, books/parchments, music, borders, and finally gift and gift giving. The present research comes up with the conclusion that individuals are the most influential rule-definers and the ones who welcome the emergent perspectives just to make them the dominant ideology of their society. As an illustration, the individuals themselves help the transition from polygamy to monogamy in the family structures. Furthermore, the very fact that most of the emergent perspectives were at some times dominant and have been covered in cobweb-like layers and are now recalled in the form of novel things is manifested.
