Charcoal production been done in the rural area of Marivan region, Kurdistan, Iran long before up to now and play an important role in family economy of the region’s people. Present study carried out to evaluate charcoal production potential in Marivan oak forests. In this regards first; all forest points whereas used for charcoal production were indentified. An inventory network with dimensions 132 × 250 m was designed random-systematically and total 235 sample plots were established. In each sample plot, the species name of all trees with collar diameter more than 5 cm was recorded and the relative diameter at breast height, diameter at middle height, height and crown diameter were measured. The results showed that the average of forest stock in study area was 14.64 silve per hectare and the target diameter in charcoal processing was 15 cm and the harvestability based on target diameter, forest stock and considering the reservation was between 0.39 -0.78 silve per hectare.
