چکیده	We present community participation and raising awareness activities to protect endangered Euphrates softshell turtle in northern Khuzestan through a partnership program with SGP-Iran. During increasing the level of awareness of indigenous people; fishermen, children, game guards and local NGO in Khuzestan province were able to get more information about the endangered status of turtle, the threats to their populations, how important their involvement is for their conservation and how they can be directly involved in helping to protect the only softshell turtle in Iran. Findings showed that participatory conservation and local people involvement can reduce fishermen-turtle conflicts and play a key role in Euphrates softshell turtle survival in Iran.
