A new offset on the common-diffraction-surface (CDS) stack method was developed to enhance the quality of the zero offset section of low-fold seismic data with complex structures that have problem of conflicting dips. For this purpose, the new idea applied on CDS travel time formula in defined offset range for each time and target zone to compute finite offset stacked CDS volume. For defining the offset range that used in CDS Operator, for each t0, a linear function designed that varies with time. In this new method the volume of data that used to stack can reduced to one third rather than conventional CDS method. To solve the problem of imaging in complex media, a seismic data set was selected for application of the finite offset CDS stack and CDS stack method. The problem of conflicting dips in this data was solved by finite offset CDS method as well as CDS stack method, but in finite offset method processing time reduced to half and exhibits the diffraction events better than CDS stack method.
