چکیده

Cubic tetra-manganese clusters were found and proposed to be the active center of water oxidation in the nature, which function as the catalytic site for splitting water in the photosynthesis of plants. The synthetic biomimetics of the manganese clusters were extensively investigated but few of them were structurally characterized on the level of the molecular details. A new synthetic biomimetics of cubic tetra-manganese clusters proposed to be the water splitting active site producing oxygen in phtosystem II was synthesized and structurally characterized on the level of the molecular details. The catalytical oxidation of water by 1 and 1- supported MWCNT was tested with electrochemical mehtod. The preliminary results exhibit both 1 and 1- supported MWCNT are the new materials for electrode which can potetially catalyze water oxidation. The complex also demonstrates good catalytic activity for epoxidation of some alkenes with high selectivity.
