چکیده Bam Earthquake by magnitude of 6.5 occurred in December 2003, in the city of Bam that is located at southeast of Iran. During the earthquake over 26,200 people in Bam, Baravat (small town in the east of Bam) and a few villages were killed and about 14,360 were injured. The maximum PGAs of horizontal components are 0.7, 0.84g and 1.01g for the vertical component1). The predominant periods of the records are 5 to 6 Hz for horizontal and 8 Hz for vertical motions. Power supply within Bam and its suburbs was prepared by two 230KV lines; after changing voltage by a 230/132/20KV power substation. Various kinds of facilities in Bam Substation were damaged as well as power distribution elements, i.e. poles, aerial transformer and cables. The power substation facility involves tower, cable, disconnect switch (DS), main transformer (power transformer), circuit breaker (CB), coupling capacitor voltage (CC), lightning arrester (LA), current transformer (CT), wave trap, clamps, buildings, control room and batteries. Damages as well as seismic behavior of the facilities in 230/132/20KV Bam Substation are discussed and the data are compared by some fragility curves.
