The design and construction aspects in the strengthening and heightening of an ancient masonry dam in Iran are discussed in the paper. The project details are discussed. Results of finite element analysis for different load combinations are presented. The load combinations considered in the analysis include static as well as seismic loads. Pseudo-static as well as pseudo-dynamic analysis has been employed for the purpose of seismic analysis.
