The present study aims to measure semantic-perceptual components of environmental quality. To this end, 343 residents were selected from Qatâr-chyân neighborhood in Sanandaj by using the Cochran formula. Then, a questionnaire including identity, sense of place, legibility, and safety indicators, along with twenty-three sub-indicators was selected for data collection. The status of environmental quality in the neighborhood was identified by using independent-sample t-test. In order to compare the people’ opinions in terms of demographic variables and examine the relationship between the demographic variables and twenty-two semantic-perceptual sub-indicators, one-way ANOVA and the Spearman ordinal correlation were used respectively. The results indicates that the environment quality of Qatâr-chyân neighborhood is significantly high (5>3.08> 1). However, functional, semantic-perceptual, and aesthetic components were significantly higher than the environmental component. In terms of semantic-perceptual- indicators, identity, sense of place and legibility were significantly higher than the mean and the safety was significantly lower than the mean. And significant difference was achieved in terms of demographic variables.
