|
Transvers excitation of beam-columns is a common problem at an extended engineering science. One of the most important examples is columns of reinforced concrete building under external blast loading. External columns in building are the most critical and vulnerable structural elements in front of accidental or intentional explosions. In this paper, an analytical approach is used to predict the first maximum dynamic response of the rectangular RC beam-column under simultaneously effect of fixed axial force and transverse blast loading. This analytical model is based on continuous formation of Euler-Bernoulli theory with considering strain rate effects on material behavior and secondary effects of P- . Introduced analytical model is used to analyze the transverse displacement on RC beam-column under impulsive, dynamic and quasi-static regimes of loading. The results of proposed approach for the first maximum response od beam-column is compared to the results of nonlinear finite element analysis with ABAQUS software. The outcome indicates undesirable discrepancies under high levels of axial force and quasi-static loading conditions. Nevertheless, I the impulsive and dynamic regimes and moderate and low axial load ratio, the differences in the results are acceptable. Afterward, the analytical model is used to evaluating the pressure Impulse(P-I) diagram of RC column and effective factors on it.
