Solid-phase microextraction has successfully been used for the extraction and sampling of most organic compounds. Fused silica fibers coated with different organic compounds i.e. Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), Polyacrylate (PA), polyimie, carbowax-divinylbenzene (PDMS/DVB), carboxen-PDMS, graphite, poly (3-methylthiophene), Nafion and some other are widely used as a sampling matrix in SPME. The goal of this work is the preparation of a new fiber consisting gold wire coated with thermal stable electro-conductive polymers i.e. polyaniline (PA). For this purpose, the electrochemical polymerization of aniline was performed on the surface of gold wire. Efficiency of this fiber was investigated in the extraction of organic compounds from gaseous and aqueous samples. Effect of different parameters in the electro-polymerization of PA, fiber conditioning and extraction procedure were studied. In the optimum conditions, one fiber was used in several equal analysis and the relative standard deviations for extraction efficiencies were below 5% (n=5). These results prove the high stability and good extraction behavior of the proposed fiber.
