Located on the conglomerate formations, the power plant of Masjede-Soleiman dam has faced some cracks in its concrete liner. These cracks are shear and flexural and their continuous growth have never stopped for two years. Many factors were thought to be the reason of the problem including cavern extension blasting, impounding, groundwater level increasing, geo-technical situations, the malfunction of cut-off curtain, weakness in design and constructing the concrete liner or a combination of these. Because of structural cracks, pressure act on the wall should be greater that ultimate pressure that can be carried by wall. According to the analysis, the pressure is more than estimated loads and a applicable salutation has been proposed for this solution
