چکیده This paper presents a novel soft switching circuit for boost converter. This is done through an additional auxiliary switch and a resonant circuit. The paper presents the idealized analysis giving all the circuit intervals and the equations necessary for the design of such a circuit. Experimental results confirm the design methods. Extension of the method to tapped inductor boost converter addresses the application of Zero Voltage Transition (ZVT) to high conversion ratio converters. When large powers are handled interleaved operations of several converters is preferred to get better ripple performance. Such a scheme is presented for all the interleaved switching devices. It is seen that with less number of auxiliary switches ZVT operation can be done for all the interleaved switching devices. Both simulation and experimental results show that soft switching can be achieved for a wide line and load range.
