چکیده	Water-soluble albumin-like proteins were studied as biochemical markers for a new classification of six Iranian subspecies of wheat (Triticum aestivum) of the family Gramineae. Albumin-like proteins were extracted with water in a 1:10 (w:v) ratio and their electrophoretic patterns were studied through SDS-PAGE. A 75-92% homology between wheat subspecies and a cluster analysis based on qualitative evaluation of patterns was observed. Electrophoretic patterns of albumin-like proteins from seeds of other species of Gramineae were also studied. We observed that these proteins may be used as markers for distinguishing between species of Gramineae.
