in this lecture the current trends of language testing was discussed and the position of language testing from the past to the present and future was elabrated upon. it was discussed for the audience that traditionally testing followed a very clear procedure of evaluating the memorized materials and essay type and subjective testing was paramount. Later on a more scientific process was followed in the psychometric era towards being more objective.Finally integrative and communicative testing became the priority in language testing situations.
