Title Boosted photocatalytic efficiency of Ag/β-Ag2WO4/BiFeO3 for the selective actuation of C(OH)–H bond
Type JournalPaper
Keywords Perovskite Ag/β-Ag2WO4/BiFeO3 C(OH)–H bond actuation Plasmonic photocatalyst
Abstract A novel Ag/β-Ag2WO4/BiFeO3 (AWO/BFO) photocatalyst was prepared by a precipitation-photoreduction method. FE-SEM, XRD, EDX, XPS, FT-IR, HRTEM, DRS, PL, and photocurrent techniques were used to investigate the morphology, optical properties, and nanocomposite structure. The size range of nanoparticles was determined to be 4–12 nm. The photo performance of AWO and AWO/BFO photocatalysts was scrutinized toward the selective actuation of the C(OH)–H bond under a visible lamp source. Prepared nanocomposite exhibited impressive visible-light catalytic efficiency (around 80 % conversion) compared to pure AWO and BFO. The high efficiency of AWO/BFO should be related to the charge pairs separation of AWO due to the presence of BFO perovskite, the high adsorption capacity of BFO, and the strong surface plasmon resonance (SPR) of Ag NPs. Additionally, the nanocomposite was utilized for six runs without considerably decreasing the reaction efficiency.
