Title NPK concentration and essential oil production of Anise (pimpinella anisum L.) in relation to vermicompost, zeolite and PGPR
Type Presentation
Keywords Vermicompost- zeolite- pimpinella anisum- nitrogen- phosphorus- potassium
Abstract Two field experiments were conducted in the agriculture research station, at Sanandaj, Iran, during the two successive seasons 2008 and 2009 to investigate the effect of vermicompost, zeolite and PGPR on pimpinella anisum L. The results revealed that Vermicompost levels significantly increased N, P, K concentration and essential oil production; the highest amount of them were obtained from the maximum rate of Vermicompost. Zeolite application showed significant effects on potassium concentration and essential oil production during the second season. Generally Vermicompost levels combined with zeolite had a favorable effect on nitrogen and potassium and application 10 t.ha1 Vermicompost combined with zeolite gave the highest value for N and K. PGPR significantly increased N, P concentration and essential oil production during both of seasons when compared to uninoculated control. In addition the maximum rate of Vermicompost combined with inoculated treatments increased nitrogen concentration during the second season.
