In this article we read Abbas Kiarostami's films based on the formalistic method of Roman Jackobson. Therefore, we endeavor to become more practical by looking for such for formalist devices in Kiarostami's films particularly his Under the Olive Trees, Wind Will Carry Us. This study is illuminating in the sense it is comparative and finds similarities between literature and Cinema.
