Abstract

The aim of this study was determined of nitrate accumulation in strawberry fragments. Different segment of strawberry (Fragaria× annanasa cv. Selva and cv. Comerosa have studied in different level of Cl via different source of nitrogen in hydroponic culture. Samples (leaf, pedicle, root and fruit) were used from three different stage of strawberry development including: flowering, fruiting and finally end of fruiting. Our results show that there is not significant difference between two cultivar of strawberry in nitrate accumulation. Maximum accumulation of nitrate occurred in flowering and flouting. leaf was segment that maximum nitrate occurred it. Minimum accumulation of nitrate was in root and pedicle. Enhancement of chloride with NO3 source is not significant difference in compare with Hoagland solution, whereas using of chloride with ammonium source of nitrogen can decrease nitrate accumulation. It seems that using of chloride with ammonium source caused to increase nitrate reductase activity. Also nitrate accumulation in different segment is effected by nitrate reductase activity. At Flowering and fruiting high accumulation may be due to vegetative growth derision or low nitrate reductase activity. It seems that chloride via ammonium could be useful for low nitrate in strawberry. Nitrate accumulation in plants is harmful in human and animals health.
