There are 46 Iranian terrestrial orchid species in Iran which 36 species produce underground fleshy tubers. In this regard, west of Iran is a hotspot for most endangered and threatened species. Recently researches have been conducted to study different biological, molecular and conservational aspect of Iranian Terrestrial orchids. In this workshop, we aimed to present our finding on optimization of seed germination and micropropagation of 8 Iranian terrestrial orchid species using cost-effective media constituents such as pineapple juice and coconut water.
