Abstract

The present study aims to determine the relationship between psychological skills and emotional intelligence and conflict management strategies of physical education teachers of Ardabil province. This is a descriptive, correlation study conducted using field research. 196 individuals (116 men and 80 women) of physical education teachers in Ardabil province were selected for the study, using random sampling and Krejice & Morgan table (N=412). For the purpose of data collection three questionnaires were used including Ottawa psychological skills (reliability, 0/87), Bradbery emotional intelligence (reliability, 0/83) and Robins conflict management (reliability 0/86). Descriptive and inferential statistical methods (Kolmogorov- Smirnov tests, Levine test, and Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Multivariate regression) were used for data analysis. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were also used to assess construct validity. The obtained results of the study indicate that, there is a significant and positive relationship between psychological skills (relaxation, positive and negative thoughts) and conflict management strategies of physical education teachers of Ardabil province. The overall conclusion of the study showed that emotional intelligence and psychological skills are the factors that affect conflict management strategies of physical education teachers, and need to be considered in educational curriculum. For the analysis of the data SPSS software version 18 was used and ?@ 0/05.
