Abstract

Caves have always been considered as geomorphosites which imply different values for tourist attractions. Caves are now one of a key feature of tourist attractions which acquired a great role in tourism development in the world. Newly discovered cave in HawaraBarza park in Rabat contained valuable speleothem landforms. These landforms are important features regarding their aesthetic and scientific values. As the cave located in the park near the ancient hills of Rabat, the temple of Mosasir, Karstic spring of Sarchaweh and other beautiful landforms, the region contained some great potentials in line with tourist attractions. Rabat cave and HawaraBarza park have been located in northwest of Iran within the Rabat city limit. The park is mainly on top of the hill named HawaraBarza which encompassed the cave mouth. Access to the park is possible from Sardassht-Mahabad road through the city of Rabat. In recent years, different methods have been used in the analysis and interpretation of tourist attractions. In this research, Pereira P. method has been used due to its application and importance in the direction of geomorphological features analysis. According to the data collected by this scientific method, the potential of cave and HawaraBarza park geotourism have been estimated till June 2014 and some strategy proposed for their use and conservation. Based on the Pereira P. method, the cave and HawaraBarza park have been rated 14.56 out of 20 as geomorphosites and average level in terms of tourism attractions. The cave can be better used for educational purposes. To understand the capabilities of the cave and park, it is necessary to pay attention to the infrastructure of the region as well. In assessing the potential of Geomorphosite tourism, Pereira P. Method has been used. In this method, the system and a synthetic approach was emphasized. Important parameters are scientific value, use and management, maintenance and complementary factors includes cultural, ecologica
