Abstract

Aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) are generated by mixing two mutually incompatible polymers [e.g. dextranand poly(ethylene glycol), PEG], one polymer and one salt (e.g. PEGand sodium sitrate), or one ionic liqid (IL) and one salt in an aqueous solution above a certain critical concentration.
