Introduction

Rahmat Sadeghi was born in autumn 1976 in Marivan, Kurdistan, Iran. He got his B.Sc degree in Chemistry at University of Kurdistan in 1997. He studied Thermodynamics of Solutions at Tabriz University. There he got his M.Sc and PhD in Physical Chemistry in 2000 and 2004, respectively. He has been working at the University of Kurdistan as an academic member in department of chemistry since 2004 where he created a research group. In this research group, he has completed the supervision of 1 post-doctoral researchers, 8 PhD students and 28 MSc students. His research interests range from the experimental to theoretical studies of Solute Effect, Aqueous Biphasic Systems, Extraction and Purification of Biomaterials, Aggregation Properties, Liquid-liquid Equilibria Properties, Vapor-liquid Equilibria Properties, Solid-liquid Equilibria Properties, Volumetric and Ultrasonic Properties, Viscometric and Conudctometric Properties, Surface Properties, Calorimetric properties, Synthesis of Nanoparticles, Ionic Liquids and Deep Eutectic Solvents. He is currently addressing most of his research time to the characterization and development of new applications of ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents. Since 2005, Prof. Sadeghi published more than 120 papers in international peer reviewed journals, one book, one book chapter and has over 2500 citations and an h-index of 29. He has participated in 4 national research projects. In 2008 he received a research grant award from elite national foundation (Bonyad Melli Nokhbegan) for young assistant professor and in 2015 was selected as the eminent professor of physical chemistry of iran by the Iranian Chemical Society. He has also selected as a higher researcher of University of Kurdistan in different years. Prof. Sadeghi has been selected as a member of the Physical Chemistry Committee of the Iranian Chemical Society for two terms (2015-2017 and 2018 –2020). Currently, Prof. Sadeghi is the head of the Elites Foundation of Kurdistan Province.
