Word recognition and listening comprehension for learners of English ultimately remains a major obstacle. Part of the problem is related to word processing. In this study, we found that the isolated words were distorted in the speech. 80 students majoring in English at the University of Kurdistan have conducted research. The 60 TOEFL tests were selected based on the scores of the two groups of 30 subjects were divided into groups of tests for control. Divided into groups of words correctly from the book "American Accent Training" was given to the control group whom were asked to repeat the speech. At the end of any text, audio, and other means of identification of words correctly read in the form of words by one person by broadcasting the media for him. The results showed that the difference between the two groups was observed in the multiple-choice tests and the difference was not significant between the two groups regarding Test is leaving. This suggests that recognition of words in continuous speech is difficult for learners and they should be familiar with these features at the beginning of learning process.
