University of Kurdistan is located in the province of Kurdistan, in western Iran, in the city of Sanandaj. This university started in 1974 as Sanandaj Teacher Training Faculty, affiliated with Tehran Teacher Training University, and later became one of the campuses of Razi University. In 1991, the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology recognized this higher education center as "University of Kurdistan ".
