In this paper the performance of some radial basis functions in the dual reciprocity method (DRM) in conection with domain decomposition method (DDM) is examined. It has been already shown that the Thin plat spline has a good convergence rate for steep functions but the condition number of its interpolation matrix for larger number of points increases at a faster rate than the other RBFs.
