Abstract

Changes to higher education as a result of technological advancement have begun and thus brought revolutionary reforms in the traditional way of education (e.g.,Beaver 1992; Clarke, 1999; Dearing, 1997). In this perspective the condition of education or what it is generally called “teaching-learning process” has undergone fundamental changes when the university authorities decide to apply new technologies in their institutions. Virtual education in line with using technology in higher education has become a key figure in different ways (see Larreamendy-Joerns & Leinhardt, 2006; Moore &Kearsley, 2005). O’Donoghue, Singh and Dorward (2001) has pointed out that the virtual education has significantly affected the learning experiences of students in university, the role of tutor, and the university infrastructure. One of the recent advancement in virtual education is to apply Web 2.0 tools in education. The main outcome of applying Web 2.0 tools is to enhance interactive and collaborative learning in the higher education context.
