We generated IdeoKar, free karyotype analysis software that facilitates the data collection from different digital images of the metaphase chromosome spread and calculates a wide variety of chromosomal parameters along with the related standard errors (SEs). IdeoKar then uses this data to generate a high quality vector based ideogram image. The data also is saved automatically as an Excel datasheet in the application installation path. This software is capable to simultaneously draw different ideograms of different species or individuals into a single image file. The generated ideogram images are suitable for many types of presentation material including web pages, conference posters, oral presentations, etc. IdeoKar don’t need any specific hardware and can be used with most personal computers. This software would be freely available at the website of the University of Kurdistan when finalized.
