The present book is an attempt to address modern Kurdish literature and to translate major literary work into English. The first volume of a larger project, this book presents and explores modern Kurdish poetry in Iranian Kurdistan. The book includes the biography of fifteen salient Iranian Kurdish poets ordered chronologically. In addition, the major poems of each poet have been translated into English. In the introductory chapter to the book the major schools and trends in modern Kurdish poetry have been closely investigated.
