The Kurdish Shānāma (The Book of Kings) [in Kurdish: Şaname, شانامه] also known as Razm-Name or Jang-Nama (The Book of Battles), refers to a group of poetic opuses which mainly tell the mythical history of Iran or in a larger sense, the world from the first king [Kayumart] until the end of the reign of Bahman ‒ the last legendary Kayanid King. According to the legendries, King Bahman was the son of the greatest Zoroastrian hero, Isfandyar, who fought for the spread of Zoroastrianism and was killed by Rustam, the legendary superhero of Iran.
