Abstract

The ordered ferromagnetic–diamagnetic Fe1-xWx nanowire arrays were successfully fabricated by alternating current (AC) electrodeposition into nanoporous alumina templates (AAO). The Fe-W nanowires were deposited in AAO template in a simple sulfate bath. The effect of adding tungsten to iron nanowires and as well as the thermal annealing effect on the magnetic properties and structural of the nanowires were explored. Morphology of template was studied by a scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to observe nanowires. The magnetic properties of samples were measured by alternative gradient forcemagnetic (AGFM) at room temperature. X-ray diffraction pattern has been used to determine crystalline structure of nanowires. The results show that the magnetic parameters, such as coercivity field and squareness were decreased with increasing the W content. The coercivity field of nanowires decreases from 1345 Oe (Fe) to 395 Oe (Fe95W5). For study the effect of temperature on the magnetic properties of nanowires, fabricated nanowires were annealed in the temperature range between 300 oC and 600 oC. It is observed that the coercivity field all of nanowires with different value of x increases with temperature and maximum variation related to Fe97.75W2.25 nanowires from 585Oe at room temperature to 1285Oe at 600 oC.
