Abstract

Written literature expresses the discourse of the intellectual class. For this reason, it has not given importance to oral literature; this is while oral literature is much richer, older than written literature and includes all classes and strata of society. This research, while analyzing the characteristics of oral literature, seeks to answer the question of whether oral literature is different from written literature? The research method is descriptive-analytical in which the data were collected using a library method and the results were analyzed using content analysis. The results show that oral literature is much richer than written literature and includes many items, including children's and women's
