Abstract

Regarding to different physiology between triploid and diploid fish, in this study resistance to some stresses such as acute deficit of oxygen, acute changes in temperature, larvae transportation, and effect of using clove-pink powder as a anesthetic agent, was investigated in all-female diploid and triploid rainbow trout. Results show that mortality rate arising from transport stress of 20- day’s age larva (100mg) haven’t any significant difference between diploid and triploids (P>0.05). Resistance of 40gr weight fishes to oxygen deficiency show no significant differences between two groups (P>0.05). Also no mortality was observed in fishes (80gr) of two groups in consequence of temperature fluctuation (± 15.5º C). Recovery time of the anaesthetize by clove-pink powder, was longer in triploids compare to diploids (P<0.05), but time needed to become conscious was similar in two groups (P>0.05). Final results confirm that, resistant and susceptibility of all-female diploid and triploid rainbow trout relative to acute stresses was similar.
