Title Effects of fish meal levels and naracin supplementation on performance in broiler chicks
Type Presentation
Keywords Fishmeal- naracin-broiler- body weight- feed intake
Abstract This study was carried out to investigate the effects of formulating isonitrogenous and isoenergtic diets varying in fish meal levels (0 and 5%) with and without ionophoric anti-coccidial agent Naracin (0 and 60 mg/kg of diet) on performance in broiler chicks .A total of 352 Hubbard straight-run broiler chicks were allocated to four dietary treatments, each replicated four times (22 chicks per pen) in a completely randomized design in 22 factorial arrangements. Chicks body weights, daily gain, feed intake and feed conversion ratio were determined at 10 and 20d of ages. The results indicated that body weight at 20d, daily gain during 0-20d , feed intake during 11-20d and 0-20d had significantly increased with 5% fishmeal inclusion to the diets. Neither Naracin nor the interaction between Naracin and fishmeal level (%) had significant effect on chick’s performances.
