The CeO2/Bi2WO6 nanocomposite was synthesized using sonochemical and hydrothermal methods. It was studied for its catalytic activity in reducing 4-nitrophenol (4-NP), 4- nitroaniline (4-NA), chromium (VI), rhodamine B(RhB) and Methylene Blue (MB) in aqueous solutions. Analytical techniques like Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), UV–Visible Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (DRS), Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to characterize the nanocomposites. The CeO2/Bi2WO6 10% composite showed the most effective results, achieving the complete reduction of 4-nitrophenol in 10 minutes. The nanocomposite also demonstrated impressive recyclability, indicating its potential for practical applications.
