Abstract In this study, a schiff-base oxo-vanadium complex supported on magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles [VO(BINE) @Fe3O4] is prepared as a novel magnetically interphase nanocatalyst and its structural features are evaluated using different methods of TEM, SEM, EDX, ICP, VSM, TGA and FT-IR. Catalytic investigations demonstrate that this catalyst can catalyze chemoselective oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides in high yields and short times at room temperature using hydrogen peroxide, as a green oxidant. The catalyst can be recovered up to 8 cycles without noticeable leaching and loss of catalytic activity.
