Title Comparison between Physical Self-Perception of Active and Inactive Adolescent Athletes: With Emphasis of Gender

Abstract The purpose of this research is to compare the physical self-perception of active and inactive adolescent Athletes by consideration of gender. In this study 339 active and inactive athlete boys and girls students (11 to 15 years old) were selected by cluster sampling from Iran. Considering its object, it is a qualitative research, where physical self-perception of athletic, active, and inactive individuals was compared through causal method. To gather up information, two questionnaires were used, in this study; independent T-test, One-way and 2-way analysis of variance were applied as statistical methods. The results obtained through this research indicated that physical activity, gender, and interaction of body activity with gender have significant effects on physical self-perception in adolescents (p < 0.05). In other words, athletic adolescents compared to active and inactive, active adolescents compared to inactive, and boys compared to girls have more positive attitude about their physical self-perception
