|
Alkyl 2-nitroethanoates react with alkyl propiolates in the presence of triphenylphosphine (Ph3P) in a mechanistically unprecedented reaction to afford tetraalkyl benzene-1,2,3,5-tetracarboxylates in moderate yields (36 –42%).
