Abstract

Fe100-x-Px (x= 0.5, 2. 4. 6, 9, 12, 16, 20) nanowire arrays have been successfully synthesized in anodic aluminium oxide (AAO) template by alternating current (AC) electrodeposition. For preparation of high ordered AAO templates, a two-step anodizing process has been used. The dc anodization is performed in 0.3 M oxalic acid electrolyte, under constant voltage of 40 V. The Fe-P alloy nanowires are deposited in AAO template in a simple sulfate bath. The effect of composition (Fe and P) and annealing temperature on magnetic properties and structural of nanowires are investigated. The morphology of AAO template and nanowires were surveyed by atomic force microscope (AFM) and scanning electronic microscope (SEM). The magnetic properties of nanowires are measured by alternating gradient force magnetometer (AGFM) at room temperature. X-ray diffraction pattern has been used to determine crystalline structure of nanowires. The results show that adding P to Fe, coercivity field (HC) decreases from 1431 Oe (Fe nanowires) to 786 Oe (Fe80P20 nanowires). For studying the effect of annealing on the magnetic properties of nanowires, all nanowires have been annealed at various temperatures (300, 400, 500, 550 and 600 °C). It is observed that the coercivity field all of nanowires with different value of x increases with temperature treatment. But maximum enhance related to nanowire that fabricated with x=16 and results show that the coercivity of this nanowire increase from 837 Oe at room temperature to 1520 Oe at 6000 C.
