In this paper, the architecture of western part of Iran, Kurdistan province, has been investigated based on Islamic architecture values and local culture with especial emphasis on the patterns of mountain villages. Concerning the long history of Iranian civilization, its architecture has acquired a great attention across the world. Although, the western part of Iran has been recognized as the main source of Iranian civilization, its architecture has no status in the concept of Iranian architecture today. There are some basic differences between the architecture of western part and the introverted structure in the desert and central part of Iranian plateau. This was neglected in the architectural researches and less attention has been paid to mentioned differences. The main reason of this relates to the lack of monumental and high style buildings in this part of Iran. In addition to this, we can claim that those few researches are also paid attention to the physical aspects of the built form and the content was ignored.
