Since the first report in 1972, asymmetric conjugation of organometallic reagents to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds, in presence of chiral auxiliaries has received much attention. Also it enantioselectivity constitutes an important synthetic method for chiral carbon- carbon bond formation. On the other hand, C2 symmetric chiral bisoxazoline ligand-metal complexes have received a great deal of attention through their use in various metal-catalyst asymmetric reactions [1, 2]. Here in, chiral (S,S,S)-2,2′-bitolyl bisoxazoline ligand was synthesized in high yield and enantiomeric excess and along with diethylzinc was used as a catalyst in Asymmetric 1,4- addition of diethylzinc to 2-cyclohexen-1-one.
