Abstract

Unique size-dependent optical properties and potential applications in various nanoelectronic and optoelectronic devices caused semiconductor nanoparticles to be of great interest [1]. Research on SnS has been attracted scientists due to its layer property and being a less toxic compound compared to other similar materials such as lead and cadmium compounds [2]. Semiconductor doped with transition-metal (TM) or rare-earth metals, so-called diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS) have attracted much attention because of their capacity to store wealth of scientific information and potential technological applications [3,4]. In this work, a very fast and reproducible process used for the synthesis of SnS and iron doped SnS by chemical co-precipitation method in aqueous media. These nanoparticles were characterized by EDAX, XRD, TEM, optical absorption. The EDS data confirm the existence of Fe ions in Fe-doped SnS nanoparticles.
