The purpose of this research is to study native and local games of Kurdistan province, and the research is a descriptive one among 300 physical education teachers (n=1000). Measuring tools including observation, interview, questionnaire of the researcher were made based upon which the face and content validity of that was obtained by the experts and its reliability through Cronbach’s alpha. (some ways to promote native and local games; Cronbach’s alpha 87%, some ways for revival of native and local games; Cronbach’s alpha 69%, practicality of native and local games; Cronbach’s alpha 95%, the situation of familiarity with native and local games; Cronbach’s alpha 96%, appropriate descriptive and inferential statistics (Chi-square and Fischer's test) were used). the findings showed 1) training physical education teachers is of first priority in promoting the games, 2) education and informing through media is the most important factor in revival and promotion of the games, 3) the most important factor in people's acceptance of the games is the simplicity of dealing with native and local sports, 4) the obstacles in promotion of native and local sports are lack or shortage of facilities and accommodation. Among the 44 games there were 27 common types of games. 5 games are related to southern cities of the province and 10 games are related to northern cities. So there was no significant relation between age, sex and education with the degree of familiarity with the games.
