This study compares and evaluates the demographic transition processes and development potentials in the Kurdish regions of Iran and Iraq, using a secondary analysis methodology. The results indicate that Iranian Kurdistan is closely aligned with Iranian society as a whole, having undergone a demographic transition and now experiencing a demographic window of opportunity. In contrast, Iraqi Kurdistan is ahead of the rest of Iraq but has not yet fully completed its demographic transition. We argue that before entering the demographic window phase, it is essential to implement policies that improve human capital in these regions.
